What To Bring To Practice
- Non-baggy clothes – like you would go running in on a cold day
- Running shoes – used for land workouts and for carrying the boat to the water
- Warm shirt
- Shorts or sweat pants
- Light-weight rain jacket or merino wool long sleeve shirt
- Thick socks – helps to protect your feet in the boats rowing shoes
- Hat
- Sunglasses – protect your eyes even in light cloud cover
- Water Bottle – this is a must have. Rowers work hard and need water.
What To Expect At Practice
- Warm up exercises like pushups and sit-ups
- Running, weightlifting and indoor rowing
- On the water technical drills and workouts
- Stretching
- Safety and strategy discussions
- You will get wet! – extra clothes are useful to have for after practice
